Hill Tribe walking in Mae Chaem

Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand, belongs to Chiang Mai Province. This mountain is an ultra prominent peak, known in the past as Doi Luang or Doi Ang Ka, meaning the ‘crow’s pond top’. Just a few tourists know there is a picturesque village called “Baan Pa Bong Piang” located on the other side of this mountain.

There are just 8 families of the Karen ethnic group residing in Baan Pa Bong Piang village. The Karen people believe that living a simple life is the way to attain eternal happiness, and they carry out their beliefs by living with little frills and no electricity. They mainly live by rice cultivation.

Once coming here, get ready to take a deep breath and contemplate the laid-back atmosphere of the picturesque beauty surrounded by green pastures of rice.
