Snorkeling and diving in Gili Islands

Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, and Gili Meno make up the fabled “Gili Islands”. These rustic, bohemian islands lie offshore from mainland Lombok. Gilis Islands are not just for backpackers, they are also picture perfect for a fabulous luxury holiday.

The Gilis are very popular for scuba diving and snorkeling but also for relaxing, swimming and partying. Gili Trawangan– affectionately known as “Gilis T”–is the liveliest and most popular of the three islands but it’s still very chilled out. Diving is the most popular activity here, and the main street is populated with dive schools in between restaurants serving up freshly grilled seafood, market stalls and bars. If you have never tried diving before, don’t worry, training courses are available, so you can learn the essentials and graduate just a few hours before your diving journey starts.

Gili Meno is the smallest, prettiest and least developed of the Gilis. It’s perfect for spending your days as a castaway, lounging on the white sands, snorkeling offshore among green sea turtles, and enjoying ice-cold beers as the sun goes down.
